Defender with Some Faith
By Jenny Peters
Exclusive to the Port Alexander Times

What do you call a man who sticks to the wall, can lift a truck and eats donuts? The Defender!

I caught up with the Defender and asked him a few questions. Contrary to popular opinion, he is not a member of The Guardians of Port Alexander with Fervor, The White Knight and the Wanderer, although he reports they are on friendly terms. Is that what you call it? Police and fire reports show The Wanderer and Defender being pulled out of a burning warehouse a few weeks ago. With friends like these ...

Defender does have a partner, Ka-sador who recently saved a pair of young climbers in the national park (see related story). The new duo works mostly in the Ramparts, so evildoers in the 'Parts, beware.

What makes a man put on a union suit and fight crime? "Responsibility. Growing up, I was always taking up for the smaller kids in my school. To this day, I still don't like bullies of any sort. They would pick on the smaller kids or those with physical challenges. I always felt it was my responsibility to stand up for those kids. I was on par with the bullies physically. I don't see much of a difference now. One lab accident later, I'm on par with the superpowered bullies. So, it's my job to stand up for those folks who don't have powers of their own."

That's exactly the kind of answer we like to hear from those who are protecting Port Alexander from the ever-growing threat of super-powered crime.

Defender, welcome to town.
